Our Initiatives
Expanding access to care. Supporting clinicians. Advancing lasting solutions.
At Inner Immersion Association, we believe mental health care must do more than manage symptoms—it must restore wholeness. Our work is rooted in the understanding that true healing happens when individuals are met with compassion, systems are reshaped with intention, and care providers are supported, not depleted.
Each initiative we undertake reflects this integrated approach—bringing together trauma-responsive programming, facilitator training, and practical, grounded, and measurable community impact evaluation to reach those most in need. Our focus is on delivering the highest quality care to individuals and communities who have historically had the least access to it.
Your support helps make this possible. Together, we are building a trauma-responsive mental health landscape—one that strengthens individuals, families, and communities for generations to come.
We are currently advancing four key initiatives:
ADOCRR Pilot

Healing Trauma. Restoring Trust. Supporting Reentry.
This pilot, in partnership with Equality Health Foundation, brings the Inner Immersion program to communities disproportionately impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), systemic trauma, and chronic inequity. These patterns don’t just affect individuals—they ripple through families, communities, and across generations.
Inner Immersion offers a gentle but transformative process that helps participants reconnect with their inner resources, restore emotional resilience, and begin to heal what trauma has fractured. By addressing the root causes—not just the symptoms—this initiative creates pathways to healing that ripple outward: strengthening families, reducing stigma, and building healthier communities.
Wherever possible, we aim to train and support facilitators from within the communities we serve—ensuring cultural resonance, lived experience, and long-term sustainability. At the same time, Inner Immersion’s transpersonal approach is intentionally designed to meet individuals beyond language or identity, making it adaptable across diverse cultural contexts. The program supports family reconnection, reduces stigma around emotional pain, and empowers providers working on the frontlines of community care.
Status: Approved. Funding and implementation partners needed.
Equality Health Pilot

Healing Trauma. Restoring Trust. Supporting Reentry.
This initiative brings our trauma-responsive model into environments where healing has historically been undervalued, despite its clear role in supporting successful reentry, family reunification, and long-term community stability.
Through guided imagery, expressive art, breathwork, and narrative healing, participants are supported in addressing the root causes of trauma—rebuilding emotional regulation, self-trust, and inner stability as they prepare for reintegration.
This initiative also supports recovery and reentry programs by increasing client engagement, reducing dropout, and enhancing the capacity of service providers. It is designed to contribute to family reunification, long-term stability, and improved retention within therapeutic communities.
The pilot will be independently evaluated through a formal research partnership with Arizona State University.
Status: Approved by ADOCRR. Funding needed to initiate delivery.
ASU Evaluation Design

Healing Trauma. Restoring Trust. Supporting Reentry.
With support from our first foundation partner, Inner Immersion Association has engaged Arizona State University to design a formal evaluation of the Inner Immersion program. Led by Dr. María Aguilar-Amaya through ASU’s Office of Evaluation and Partner Contracts, this initiative will develop a program logic model, pre- and post-assessment tools, and a clear implementation framework to measure impact at both the individual and provider levels.
This is not an abstract academic exercise—it is a grounded, community-focused effort to demonstrate the real-world effectiveness of trauma-responsive care. By measuring outcomes such as emotional regulation, burnout reduction, and well-being across multiple domains, this evaluation will help make Inner Immersion accessible to more people—through clinical partnerships, public health systems, and insurance alignment. The findings will help inform not only clinical pathways, but also community-based models that can be adapted and scaled through values-aligned partnerships.
The design phase is fully funded and currently in progress. A full-scale community-based evaluation will follow, with anticipated costs of $75,000.
Status: Design phase funded and in progress.
LMHP Certification and Training
Equipping Clinicians. Restoring Resiliency. Expanding Capacity.
Inner Immersion’s facilitator certification program offers licensed mental health professionals (LMHPs) a deeply effective, community-centered tool for trauma healing—one that benefits both the individuals they serve and their own long-term wellbeing. This initiative addresses a dual challenge: the growing demand for mental health services in under-resourced communities, and the widespread burnout among the professionals trying to meet that need.
Through a 12-week experiential training process, LMHPs learn to guide others through Inner Immersion’s structured method, which integrates guided imagery, expressive art, breathwork, and narrative healing. The process supports significant, lasting breakthroughs—equipping clinicians to reach more people in fewer sessions, while deepening their own resilience and sense of purpose.
Certified facilitators are trained to deliver the program in high-impact settings such as correctional facilities, recovery centers, community clinics, schools, and hospitals—bringing compassionate, trauma-responsive care to environments where it’s urgently needed.
We are currently developing a sponsorship and service model to provide training scholarships for clinicians working in underserved regions. This initiative is an ideal fit for mission-aligned partners seeking to invest in sustainable mental health solutions with measurable community impact—while empowering a new generation of local healers.
Status: In development. Sponsorship and service partnerships invited.
